This patient underwent bunionectomies on both feet about a year apart. This patient had suffered for many years with bunion deformities and had the added problem of the bunions causing pressure points or callus development on her feet. Generally this isn’t a problem. When a patient has diabetes this becomes a pre-ulcerative lesion and as a risk factor for ulcer formation and amputation. Following the surgeries, the patient’s callus development stopped and she was able to pursue activities of normal living and wear normal shoe gear in comfort.
